For 11-13 June 2021 world leaders including Boris Johnson, Joe Biden, Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau, Yoshihide Suga descend on Carbis Bay outside St Ives. It will be Joe Biden’s first visit to the UK as President of the United States.
For that week, there will be heightened security. 5,000 police will be on duty. Many roads will be closed including some at Falmouth, where the world’s media are staying, and Newquay airport.
St Ives is an idyllic spot, home of artists, but crowded at the best of times.
